Dental assisting programs have seen a 5.2% decrease in total enrollment since 2021, according to new data from the American Dental Association.

The ADA recently released new data showing enrollment trends for dental education programs in the U.S.

Here is the total enrollment for dental assisting programs in the U.S. between 2021 and 2025:

2021-22: 5,036 

2022-23: 4,817 

2023-24: 4,645 

2024-25: 4,831 

2025-26: 4,774
