For the ranking, U.S. News used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to identify jobs with the greatest hiring demand from 2018-28. From there, researchers compared each job’s median salary to determine a list of the highest-paying jobs in 2020.
Here are 10 of the highest paying healthcare jobs, based on median salary:

• Surgeon: $255,100
• Oral and maxillofacial surgeon: $242,370
• Obstetrician and gynecologist: $238,320
• Orthodontist: $225,760
• Psychiatrist: $220,380
• Physician: $196,490
• Prosthodontist: $191,400
• Pediatrician: $183,240
• Dentist: $175,840
