Dental school enrollment increased by 22% since 2010

First-year dental school enrollment has increased 22 percent since the 2010-11 school year, according to data from the American Dental Association.

There are 70 accredited dental schools in the U.S.

First-year enrollment at U.S. dental schools from 2010 to 2022:

2010-11: 5,170

2011-12: 5,493

2012-13: 5,697

2013-14: 5,904

2014-15: 5,967

2015-16: 6,000

2016-17: 6,165

2017-18: 6,184

2018-19: 6,250

2019-20: 6,308

2020-21: 6,317
