Dental school enrollment up 10% since 2021

Total enrollment in accredited predoctoral dental education programs in the U.S. has increased by 10.3% in the last five years, according to new data from the American Dental Association.

Here is the total enrollment for accredited DDS and DMD programs in the U.S. from the 2021-22 academic year to the 2025-26 academic year:

2021-22: 26,228 

2022-23: 26,596 

2023-24: 27,082 

2024-25: 27,920 

2025-26: 28,925
