The average national income for general dentists who are associates or employees is $195,800 while the median is $180,000, according to DentalPost’s 2023 Salary Survey.

DentalPost conducted its survey between July and September 2022 and received participation from nearly 15,000 dental professionals. The survey addresses topics including compensation, job turnover and work environment. Read more about the methodology here.
