Annual net income declined for general practice dentists in all career stages between 2023 and 2024, according to data from the American Dental Association.
The ADA recently released data on the dentist workforce, including demographics, finances, workplaces and retirement trends.
The ADA included data on income for general dentists in various career stages: up to 10 years out of dental school, 11-25 years out of dental school and more than 25 years out of dental school.
Here is how general dentist income in 2024 compared by career stage:
Up to 10 years out of dental school: $228,463
Eleven to 25 years out of dental school: $214,691
More than 25 years out of dental school: $184,015
