How oral surgeon pay has evolved in the last 5 years

The average annual salary for oral and maxillofacial surgeons has increased 11% over the last five years despite seeing a slight drop between 2021 and 2022, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

BLS recently released updated compensation data to reflect 2025 information, the latest available. 

Here is how oral and maxillofacial surgeon pay has evolved each year since 2021:

2021: $311,460

2022: $309,410

2023: $334,310

2024: $360,240

2025: $346,490
