Owner dentists’ confidence in recovery: ADA

Dental practice owners were largely “somewhat confident” in the recovery of the dental industry, but less confident when it comes to the U.S. economy, as a whole over the next six months, according to new data from the American Dental Association.

The data was featured in the ADA’s monthly poll providing insight into the economic challenges facing dental practices during a specific week. 

Levels of confidence in recovery for the week of Feb. 14:

Respondents’ dental practice

Very confident: 31.3 percent

Somewhat confident: 39.1 percent

Neither confident nor skeptical: 14.5 percent

Somewhat skeptical: 12.6 percent 

Very skeptical: 2.7 percent

Dental care sector

Very confident: 22.8 percent

Somewhat confident: 43.8 percent

Neither confident nor skeptical: 17.5 percent

Somewhat skeptical: 14 percent 

Very skeptical: 1.9 percent

The U.S. economy

Very confident: 7.4 percent

Somewhat confident: 26.5 percent

Neither confident nor skeptical: 20.3 percent

Somewhat skeptical: 30.1 percent

Very skeptical: 15.7 percent
