Percentage of female dental school graduates increased in 2022

The percentage of female graduates of predoctoral dental education programs in the U.S. reached 52.9 percent in 2022, according to data from the American Dental Association.

The American Dental Association tracks enrollment and financial data for accredited dental schools in the U.S. each year. 

Here is the percentage of female graduates of predoctoral programs from 2018 to 2022, the latest year data is available:

2018: 49.7 percent

2019: 50.6 percent

2020: 51.4 percent

2021: 51.6 percent

2022: 52.9 percent
