The release provides guidance for screening and triaging patients instructions for patient arrival; infection control standards; clinical technique recommendations; steps to follow after suspected exposure; instructions for environment disinfection between patients; postoperative instructions for patients; and steps to minimize exposure to others after work.

The ADA also published corresponding flowcharts for minimizing risk of transmission, including algorithms for triaging and screening urgent dental patients.
