1. Water safety company IWC Innovations launched an alert system that notifies dental practices of bacteria risks in dental tools and water systems.

2. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center warned of a new human-operated ransomware targeting the healthcare industry.

3. The University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill is using pharmacists to prevent opioid addiction.

4. The American Dental Association said it is willing to work with CMS to create a national provider directory that includes dentists, the ADA said in response to CMS’ request for information.
