The American Dental Association recently made recommendations to the HHS Department to reduce regulatory burdens for dentists.

Five notes:

1. The recommendations were made in response to the HHS Department’s request for information on reducing regulatory burdens in healthcare.

2. In a July 14 letter, the ADA outlined nine reforms aimed at streamlining federal rules and improving access to oral healthcare.

3. One of the recommendations was for CMS to simplify administrative requirements for dental providers who participate in Medicare Advantage plans.

4. The ADA also proposed changes to address administrative compliance challenges for small dental practices.

5. The ADA pushed for updates to good faith estimate requirements under the No Surprises Act to allow use of standard dental treatment plans.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
