Five notes:
1. Public health officials warn the U.S. could soon face a “quad-demic” as cases of flu, norovirus, COVID-19 and RSV rise.
2. COVID-19 and seasonal influenza cases have increased in most areas of the country, while the risk of contracting RSV is considered “very high” in many regions, particularly among children.
3. Norovirus cases doubled in December compared to previous years, according to the CDC.
4. The ADA encouraged dentists to visit the CDC’s website for additional guidance on masks and respiratory virus prevention.
5. Two members of the ADA Council on Dental Practice reported seeing an increase in patient cancellations in recent weeks due to upper respiratory infections and influenza cases.
