The American Dental Hygienists’ Association stressed the importance of dental hygienists following the organization’s code of ethics.
The code provides a framework of professional responsibility, development and the well-being of the public, according to a March 19 news release from the ADHA.
The organization said that its code supports dental hygienists standing up for vulnerable populations, pushing back against workplace exploitation, and fighting for access to care.
By committing to ethical practice, dental hygienists can prevent harm, care inequalities and protect public health, the release said.
