To create the list, The Wall Street Journal analyzed data from corporate proxy statements filed through May 16 by 415 companies in the S&P 500 index with fiscal years ending after June 30, 2023.
Mr. Hogan ranked No. 34 on the list, earning $28.95 million in 2023, a 55% increase from 2022. WSJ also listed the median pay for Align Technology employees as being $22,781 in 2023.
Mr. Hogan is listed as the highest-paid CEO in the list’s healthcare and equipment services category. Other CEOs included in this category include GE Healthcare Technologies CEO Peter Arduini and UnitedHealth CEO Andrew Witty.

Mr. Hogan was also included on a list of the 100 most overpaid CEOs by nonprofit shareholder advocacy group As You Sow in November.
