New ‘game-changing’ technology could enhance effectiveness of dental implants

Researchers at the UCLA School of Dentistry have created a method to improve osseointegration in dental implant procedures.

The team of researchers created a method to remove hydrocarbon deposition on implant surfaces using ultraviolet light to reduce complications. 

This method reduced treatment times from 48 to 12 minutes, according to a Nov. 21 news release.
