Biolase appoints Dr. Richard Lanman to board of directors: 5 observations

Biolase appointed biotechnology expert Richard Lanman, MD, to its board of directors, effective Nov. 1, 2017.

Here are five observations:

1. Dr. Lanman replaces outgoing director Fredrick Moll, MD, who is resigning Nov. 11 due to other commitments.

2. Currently, Dr. Lanman is the chief medical officer at Guardant Health where he has executed the clinical and analytical validity to bring cell-free DNA sequencing technology to global adoption.

3. A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Lanman has served on multiple board of directors and advisory boards. He has authored 45 articles that are published in peer reviewed scientific journals.

4. Dr. Lanman earned his medical degree from Chicago-based Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at UC San Francisco.

5. Biolase is a leader in developing laser systems in dentistry, as well as distributing dental imaging equipment.
