Jury finds Iowa dentist not guilty of sexually assaulting minor: 3 notes

A jury found Justin Hillock, DDS, of Guthrie Family Dentistry in Guthrie Center Iowa, not guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at his home, according to Des Moines Register.

Here are three notes:

1. Dr. Hillock was arrested in March 2017 for allegedly abusing a young girl at his home numerous times. The alleged incidents happened between September 2015 and February 2016.

2. In 2009, Dr. Hillock was placed on probation by the Iowa Dental Board. The board received complaints Dr. Hillock made "suggestive, lewd, lascivious or improper remarks" to patients. The jury did not consider these complaints when coming to a verdict.

3. After the first complaints, the Iowa board required a female staff person to be present when Dr. Hillock treatment female patients.
