Worker steals $25K from St. Louis pediatric dental practice: 5 highlights

Between January 2017 and Sept. 14, a St. Louis-based Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills worker stole more than $25,000 from the practice, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Here are five highlights:

1. The employee falsely sent refunds that totaled $25,473.97 to her personal credit cards.

2. She has been charged with one count of stealing $25,000 or more.

3. Court documents recorded the worker admitted to Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills' owner and the police that she fraudulently credited herself refunds.

4. The worker said she made the refunds to four personal credit cards to pay medical bills.

5. Additionally, she confessed to attempting to change patients' records within the system when the fraudulent activity was discovered.
