Albertson, N.Y.-based The Viscardi Center selected Barbie Vartanian to serve as the inaugural executive director for its Project Accessible Oral Health initiative.

Here are three insights:

1. Project Accessible Oral Health is focused on leading a global consortium of stakeholders to tackle a leading healthcare crisis facing the disability community.

2. As executive director, Ms. Vartanian will lead the initiative's mission to connect stakeholders across medical, dental, education, political and public sectors to act as a collective catalyst for action.

3. Ms. Vartanian previously led Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services' PDS Foundation.
