A Waterloo, Iowa-based dental hygienist was reprimanded after the Iowa Dental Board discovered she was practicing with a 12-year lapsed license, according to The Courier.

The Iowa Dental Board issued a $500 fine to Laura Anderson. Her license was lapsed from Nov. 1, 2006 to July 16, 2018.

Currently, Ms. Anderson's license is active and doesn't expire until Aug. 31. On Jan. 25, she was ordered to submit documentation verifying she completed continuing education throughout the period of her expired license.
