West Virginia dental practice faces 2 lawsuits for harassment, unlawful firing

Two separate lawsuits have been filed in the Wetzel County Circuit Court against New Martinsville (W. Va.) dental, according to local news station WTRF.

In the first lawsuit, filed last week, a dental hygienist at the practice accused dentist Adam Pendleton, DDS, of sexual harassment. The hygienist, who has worked at the practice for less than a year, allegedly left the practice March 13 due to a hostile work environment, the West Virginia Record reports.

Last month, a different hygienist filed a lawsuit against the practice, claiming she was unlawfully fired. In the complaint, the hygienist said she brought forward possible HIPAA violations, which resulted in her being let go from the practice, reports WTRF.
