Phoenix dental practice alerts 7,500 patients of data breach

Phoenix-based Desert Valley Dental was the target in a data breach that may have affected more than 7,500 patients, according to Arizona's Family.

The security incident happened in September 2018; however, it remains unclear who or what caused the breach and whether patient information has been misused.

Desert Valley Dental is mailing letters to patients who were affected by the breach. Patients who want more information can contact the Office of Civil Rights or Desert Valley Dental.
