Florida man posed as dentist, practiced without license, police allege

A man in Port St. Lucie, Fla., has been accused of practicing dentistry without a license, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.

Police arrested 52-year-old Jose Espinoza-Aleman after receiving a tip that the Florida man was practicing dentistry without the proper credentials. Police were led to DTS Dental Technology in Port St. Lucie where they made the arrest earlier this week.

Mr. Espinoza-Aleman has also been charged of drug possession with intent to sell, dispose or deliver, WPTV reports.

"The practice of medicine, of any level or type, requires extensive training and the highest level of ethics," St. Lucie county sheriff Ken Mascara told WTPV in a statement. "The danger that this individual placed others in could have been life threatening and was blatantly reckless. Thank you to the concerned citizen who saw something and said something that led to this arrest."
