A Granger, Ind.-based oral surgeon is using robotic technology at his practice to make procedures more minimally invasive, according to ABC57.
Taite Anderson, DDS, purchased the Navident robotic system six months ago. He has been using it at his practice, Granger Oral Surgery and Dental Implants, ever since.
"It's basically a GPS for my instruments. In the big picture, what it allows me to do is place my instruments on the CT scan so I can see real time where my instruments are, what bone I'm cutting [and] what surgery I'm doing," Dr. Anderson said.
Dr. Anderson has been an advocate for robotic surgery among oral surgeons. He hopes by using the technology it will foster innovation in the industry.
