California Dental Association provides nearly $1.5M in free dental services

The California Dental Association provided $1.46 million in dental care at its 16th volunteer dental clinic in San Bernardino, Calif., Sept. 27-28.

CDA Cares provided free dental care to 1,626 people, with dental professionals performing more than 10,000 procedures in the two days. The event was run by 1,400 volunteers, including health professionals and community volunteers who assisted with registration, language translation and data entry.

The association also emphasized the importance of continually improving the Medi-Cal dental program. Many of the 13 million Californians in the program still face barriers to necessary care.

Key sponsors for the event include Henry Schein, Western Dental, Delta Dental, Tokuyama Dental, Tri-County Dental Society, Larell One Step Denture, United Concordia Dental, The Dentists Insurance Company and The Dentists Supply Company.
