Pennsylvania dentist found drugs in assistant's pocket during root canal, policy say

A dentist at Quakertown, Pa.-based Upper Bucks Dental Arts claims to have found methamphetamines in a dental assistant's pocket when the two were performing a root canal procedure, according to The Morning Call.

Dental assistant Cindy Kametler, 33, has been charged with drug possession.

During the procedure, the dentist asked Ms. Kametler for a syringe. When Ms. Kametler's hands were full, the dentist allegedly reached into Ms. Kametler's pocket to discover a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance.

The dentist took the bag and later contacted police. Lab tests confirmed that the bag contained a half gram of methamphetamine. Ms. Kametler's hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
