Wisconsin dentist gets 6-year prison sentence for tax evasion

A Wisconsin dentist received a six-year prison sentence May 19 for tax evasion, WKBT News 8 reports.

Frederick Kriemelmeyer, DDS, operator of a La Crosse, Wis.-based dental practice, was convicted on four counts of tax evasion in February.

Dr. Kriemelmeyer was previously convicted in 2007 for filing false tax returns. By 2012, the unpaid $135,337 totaled $450,000 after interest and penalty charges. Dr. Kriemelmeyer also allegedly failed to file tax returns from 2013 through 2015 and attempted to evade income taxes for his dental practice.

In addition to the prison sentence, the dentist is to serve three years of supervised release and pay $226,839 in restitution.
