Connecticut dentist allegedly stabbed woman, pretended to be bystander when police arrived

A Connecticut dentist was charged with attempted murder July 28, according to WCBS-TV.

Police believe Alika Crew, DDS, hid in the car of her former fiancé's new girlfriend and then attacked the 30-year-old woman.

Surveillance videos show the woman calling for help July 28, holding her neck and stumbling moments after police say she was stabbed by the 41-year-old dentist.

"We saw them tussling kind of where those bushes are, then I saw somebody get up and run away," witness Denise Ward told WCBS-TV.

"She cut me in my throat," the victim told Ms. Ward, according to WCBS-TV.

Dr. Crew appears in the video, and neighbors recognize her as a medical professional, while the victim recognizes her as the assailant.

When officers arrived, Dr. Crew told them she was just a bystander trying to help, police say. The victim identified her assailant and is now being treated at a hospital, according to WCBS-TV.
