Police claim Dr. Crew hid in a Jeep owned by a woman involved with the dentist’s ex-fiance on the morning of July 28. The victim was driving when Dr. Crew allegedly attacked, left the scene and then returned, pretending to be a bystander. The victim suffered two serious cuts from a razor blade, requiring surgery at a local hospital.
Dr. Crew, 41, is affiliated with a practice in New York City, along with Stamford, Conn.-based Stein Dental Group. An employee at the Stein Dental Group told WCBS-TV that they regarded Dr. Crew highly and are shocked.
Dr. Crew’s mother is a retired school principal and her father is a historian with the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., according to WCBS-TV. Her younger brother is also a dentist.
