California waives licensing renewal requirements for dentists until February 2021

California-licensed dentists, hygienists and dental assistants whose licenses expire between March 31 and Oct. 31, 2020, now have until Feb. 27, 2021, to complete the continuing education courses and pass the license renewal exams, according to the California Dental Association.

Licensees must still pay their license renewal fees by the respective renewal due dates.

CDA's consistent advocacy efforts helped secure all three waivers for dental professionals affected by the pandemic, which has resulted in cancellations of required courses and testing.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom's March 4 state-of-emergency order allows professional licensing requirements to be waived as part of the state's response to the pandemic.
