More than 90% of dentists sought financial relief due to pandemic, ADA poll finds

More than 9 in every 10 dentists applied for financial assistance amid the pandemic, according to responses from the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute's latest poll.

The poll, conducted the week of Sept. 7, found that the most common ways dentists sought financial relief was through the federal government's Paycheck Protection Program and HHS' Provider Relief Fund and Economic Injury Disaster Loan.

Dentists who did not apply for financial assistance cited not knowing about the applications or assuming they were ineligible as reasons for not seeking relief.
