Florida woman accused of providing unlicensed dental care at home

A Florida woman is accused of performing root canals and fillings at her home without a license, according to the North Port Sun.

Ekaterina Seletskaya, 42, faces felony charges of practicing dental hygiene service without a license and offering dental assistant services outside of a licensed dental office, according to court records cited by the North Port Sun..

On Oct. 31, investigators learned Ms. Seletskaya was providing dental services from her home, the report said. Authorities saw photos of a reclining dental chair, swing lamp and other dental equipment in her home, the report said. However, when police obtained a search warrant, the chair was gone and the room was painted.

Ms. Seletskaya told investigators she was a dentist in Russia but didn't practice in the U.S. Investigators later seized medical-grade dental tools, impression kids, a dental supply journal and an appointment book from her home.

Ms. Seletskaya was arrested Jan. 4 and posted her $20,000 bond.
