Virginia dentist dies of COVID-19

Martinsville, Va., dentist James Jordan, DDS, died June 9 of complications from COVID-19 at the age of 61, reports the Martinsville Bulletin.

Dr. Jordan was a community leader known for his support of the arts and a musician recognized for bolstering the local music scene.

Dr. Jordan graduated from Martinsville High School in 1978 and attended dental school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. He went on to open his own practice, which he sold to a larger dental group in 2020.

Dr. Jordan spent the last several years battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma before testing positive for COVID-19 in February.
