An Arizona dentists who gave himself an implant using robotic-assisted technology and 10 other dentists who made headlines last week:
1. Paul Carey, DDS, was charged Feb. 16 with criminal possession of a weapon after police found 20 illegal guns in the basement of his dental office in Massapequa, N.Y., ABC7 NY reported.
2. David Yang, DMD, a dentist in Flagstaff, Ariz., gave himself a dental implant Feb. 15 using robot-assisted technology.
3. Roshan Parikh, DDS, was appointed president at New York City-based DSO Dntl Bar Feb. 15.
4. Khuong Nguyen, DDS, a pediatric dentist in San Diego, is being investigated by the Dental Board of California after allegations that he billed for treatment that was either not performed or unnecessary, NBC's KNSD reported Feb. 16.
5. Sage Dental's Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer Cindy Roark, DMD, joined Harvard School of Dental Medicine's board of fellows Feb. 16.
