Michael DiTolla, DDS and George Zehak, DDS, were presented Feb. 25 with the Gordon J. Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award and Chicago Dental Society Foundation Vision Award, respectively, at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.
The annual meeting, in its 157th year, connects attendees with dental industry leaders and innovators.
Both awards recognize the recipients' dedication to academic and scientific excellence, volunteer services and overall commitment to oral health.
Dr. DiTolla serves as vice president of clinical affairs and communications at AEGIS Dental Network. Before his current role, he was director of clinical affairs for what is now Dentsply Sirona before returning to private practice in 2021. He also served as the director of clinical education for Glidewell Labs 15 years. Dr. DiTolla has given more than 1,000 lectures to dentists worldwide.
Dr. Zehak has a private practice in Berwyn, Ill. and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Midwestern University Dental School in Downers Grove, Ill. As dental director of the Heal Elgin Clinic in Elgin, Ill., Dr. Zehak and senior dental students provided more than $170,000 in free procedures last year to more than 400 people. He is a recipient of the Lifelong Learning Service Award from the Academy of General Dentistry.
