New York couple charged with stealing $1M from dental office

Two people were arrested March 17 and charged with grand larceny and money laundering for allegedly stealing more than $1 million from a dental practice in Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Kimber Cummings, 47, and Wayne Cummings, 51, were accused of stealing approximately $1,136,370 from an unnamed dental office where Ms. Cummings worked before being terminated, according to a March 17 news release from the New York State Police Department. 

Approximately $435,804.17 was allegedly laundered from bank accounts through two limited liability corporations created by Ms.Cummings after her termination. She is also accused of attempting to pay herself $120,908.45 after her termination.

Both were charged with first degree grand larceny and second degree money laundering. Ms. Cummings was additionally charged with second degree attempted grand larceny. 

The two were taken to Onondaga County Justice Center to await centralized arraignment.
