1. Douglas Peterson, DMD, became the first person with a dental degree to be named a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
2. John Lansky, DDS, retired and closed his practice of Randolph, Vt., leaving local Medicaid patients with few options to receive care, Valley News reported April 8.
3. Darrell Morton, DMD, was elected president of the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
4. Robert W. Payne, DDS, of Naples, Fla., became the first in Southwest Florida to offer robotic tooth implant surgery, local news outlet WINK reported April 6.
5. Jun Ho Lee, DDS, partnered with two engineers from the University of California Merced to create a retainer that detects dental occlusions.
