Tennessee hospital's craniofacial program gets $1.075M boost

The Cleft and Craniofacial Program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., received a $1.075 million donation from the Smile180 foundation, Fox 17 WZTV Nashville reported June 12.

Delta Dental of Tennessee founded the Smile180 foundation to support dental colleges, children’s hospitals and free and reduced-cost dental clinics across the state.

The donation will help the program improve and develop its services and establish a directorship.

With the funds, the program can also add nasoalveolar molding, a technique that makes the cleft less severe and can reduce the number of surgeries needed
