The community college recently received a $93,908 grant to fund expansion of the program, which is now at full capacity. The new facility will allow the college to expand the number of graduates from its dental assisting II program by 24 students each year.

The program, which will be the only one in Durham and Orange counties, will begin in January 2023. The UNC dental school spans both counties.
