Florida dentist sentenced to 9 months in jail for inappropriately touching employee

A Florida dentist who was found guilty of misdemeanor battery was sentenced to nine months in jail, ABC affiliate WEAR-TV reported Nov. 1. 

A jury convicted Charles Stamitoles, DDS, in October for inappropriately touching an employee without her consent in May. 

Dr. Stamitoles will spend 270 days in jail and pay $625 in court fees and $1,350 in restitution. A judge also ordered Dr. Stamitoles to have no contact with the employee in the case. 

Dr. Stamitoles still faces several other charges of inappropriately touching employees and patients.
