2. Lionel Gold, DDS, an oral surgeon who was the former chair of the oral and maxillofacial surgery department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, died Dec. 21 of heart disease, according to a Jan. 11 newspaper report.
3. Mohamed Maksoud, DMD, a lecturer at the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, is the first dentist chosen for the Fulbright Specialist Program by the U.S. State Department’s bureau of educational and cultural exchanges.
4. Jeffrey Dalin, DDS, of St. Louis, co-founder of the Give Kids a Smile program, was given the American Dental Association’s 2022 Humanitarian Award.
