1. The Alton-based Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine launched a new specialty graduate training program in orthodontics.

2. The Georgia School of Orthodontics received approval to expand enrollment to train more resident dentists at its two Atlanta campuses.

3. OrthoNu, an orthodontics care company, is making a line of professional-grade self-care tools that aid the oral care needs of orthodontic patients.

4. A private equity firm called Phase 1 Equity focused on orthodontists and pediatric dentists launched Sept. 1.
