Thirty-one percent of associate and employee dentists changed jobs to find a more positive work environment, according to DentalPost's 2023 Salary Survey.
DentalPost conducted its survey between July and September 2022 and received participation from nearly 15,000 dental professionals. The survey addresses topics including compensation, job turnover and work environment. Read more about the methodology here.
Of those surveyed, 74 percent reported achieving their desired outcomes from changing employers.
Here were the top motivations for associate and employee dentists to change jobs in the past 12 months, according to DentalPost:
A more positive work environment: 31 percent
Better location: 19 percent
A new type of position: 17.25 percent
Better pay: 15.5 percent
A more appreciative employer: 10.25 percent
Better benefits: 3.5 percent
Different hours: 3.5 percent
