Oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of highest paying physician specialties, according to Doximity's 2023 Physician Compensation Report.
Oral and maxillofacial ranked sixth with an average annual salary of $556,642. Specialties with higher compensation include neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery and vascular surgery.
The data for the study was collected from more than 190,000 survey responses since 2017, including 31,000 self-reported physician compensation surveys throughout 2022.
