New York health center receives $500K grant to establish dental residency program

The Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center in Albany, N.Y., received a $499,999 grant to create a dental residency program, according to a March 27 report by ABC News 10

The grant will be used to establish the community-based residency program's infrastructure, creating a program that the center's leaders hope will inspire dental school graduates to practice in similar settings.

The program will help provide dental care to thousands of low-income residents, especially Medicaid recipients.

The funds are given by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the report said.
