Rajesh Lalla, DDS, PhD, received the distinguished service award from the International Society of Oral Oncology, the organization's highest honor.
The award is given to individuals who make unparalleled contributions to the organization's mission of advancing the study and clinical management of oral side effects of cancer therapy, according to a July 13 news release.
Dr. Lalla is a professor of oral medicine and associate dean for research at the UConn School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, Conn.
