University of the Pacific, Stanford partner on oral health research training

The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and Stanford (Ca.) University are partnering to advance training for oral health researchers.

The two schools formed the Pacific-Stanford PRIMED program through a $3.8 million grant from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.

All first-year dental students and residents at the University of the Pacific will now be required to complete clinical research training, according to an Oct. 22 news release. Research studies conducted under the program will focus on oral cancer, sleep medicine and developing a Pacific-Stanford biobank.
