The college became at risk of losing its accreditation in September due to concerns about the college’s sterilization space not meeting standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. CODA had also raised issues related to the number of enrolled students compared to the number of chair stations and documentation.
Jeanie McCarville-Kerber, dean of health and public services, said in September that the college had fixed all the issues except the sterilization area. Recently, the college’s board of directors received an update on the school’s progress.
Ms. McCarville-Kerber said the school has done everything it can to meet the accreditation requirements. She added that school officials will meet with CODA in January and will receive a final response from its accreditor in February.
