5 New York dental updates

From upgraded dental offices to a DSO expansion, here are five New York dental updates Becker’s has reported on since Sept. 20:

1. Babylon Dental Care updated its office to accommodate patients with dental anxiety.

2. The Smilist Management added three dental practices in New York to its network.

3. Omar Guesmia, DDS, will pay $60,000 to resolve allegations that he and his practice, Gentle Dental Care in Phoenix, violated the Controlled Substances Act by allegedly enabling staff to obtain oxycodone for personal use.

4. Chimon Family Dentistry in Albertson transitioned to becoming a fully digital dental practice with expanded services.

5. Researchers at New York City-based NYU College of Dentistry designed a topical gel that treats gum disease by suppressing inflammation and altering bacteria makeup in the mouth.
